THE GOVERNOR'S RESIDENCE AND GROUNDS

 




HOURS:

April – October: 11am to 5pm
November – March: noon to 4pm

Closed: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day

Tours available every ½ hour

Last Tour of The Governor's Residence is at 4:00 pm

Tickets may be purchased in the Visitors Center located in the Governor’s Residence

 
 

Governor’s Mansion Tour:

  • 45 minutes
  • Historic Mansion only
  • Guided tour with a professionally trained Historic Interpreter
  • Admissions per person:
    • Adults: $5
    • Children, ages 6-12: $3
    • Children, ages 5 and under: free

Columns and Carriages Tour:

  • 90 minutes
  • Historic Mansion & Carriage Collection
  • Guided tour of two locations with a professionally trained Historic Interpreter
  • Admissions per person:
    • Adults: $9
    • Children, ages 6-12: $5
    • Children, ages 5 and under: free
 

Civil War Hut Sites Exploration:

  • Self-guided, lasting approximately 30 - 45 minutes
  • Includes interpretive materials, an identification guide for the replica huts, and a map of hut site locations.
  • Admissions per person:
    • Adults: $3
    • Children, 12 and under: free
 

Special discounts on admissions:

  • AAA members receive $1 off any ticketed admission
  • Students (ages 13 and above) receive $1 off any ticketed admission
  • Group tours receive $1 off any ticketed admission per person
  • Time Traveler children receive free admission to all tours

The estate, 1,000 acres just west of Leesburg, Virginia off Rt. 7 on Old Waterford Road, was home to two governors: Thomas Swann, a governor of Maryland in the 19th century, and Virginia's reform Governor Westmoreland Davis
